At the 2013 Naples Half Marathon there were more than two thousand participants.
This picture is after the post event sports massage I (Teo Nikolov) provided for Belainesh Gebre.
Her time was: 1 hour 11 min and 54 sec (1:11:54.2)-- overall Female Winner!Great Job!
I was able to find out from her how the race went before the news crew started their interview.
The sports massage crew which included many Florida State Massage Therapy Association(FSMTA) members was
blessed (as were the runners) with great weather and that resulted in about 85 post event massage therapy sessions being performed.
This fact speaks of the importance of Sports Massage for the runners (and other athletes) as part of their preparation for competition as well as
the recovery after events and transition into new training cycle.
